Seed Treatments

Seed Priming
Parsnip seed is usually slow to germinate, under laboratory conditions the statutory test is 28 days. Priming, which synchronises and advances germination can, under good conditions, reduce field emergence to 7-10 days. Primed parsnip seed therefore gives a uniform and faster crop establishment.

Elguard filmcoating
This provides a dust-free coloured seed, which allows for easier flow through the seeder. Wakil XL fungicide is included, according to the SOLA, for the control of the Damping-off diseases.

Topkote
A micro pellet produced at Elsoms, which fills in rough seed shape and adds weight to the very light parsnip seed. (Coloured gold or bright blue if it contains insecticide). Force ST insecticide can be applied either as a filmcoat or over pellets according to the SOLA for the control of soil pests.
